Hi, my name is Jack Wang and I'm from Dix Hills, New York. I am currently a senior at Cornell University, majoring in Information Science with a concentration in User Experience (UX) Design. I'm also pursuing a minor in Business.
I started out as pre-medical student majoring in Biology. I have always wanted to pursue a career in the medical field as understanding people and serving the community were part of my identity. However, after taking Intro to Digital Product Design, I've been fascinated by design. Design has opened a new world for me to explore my passion in service through empathizing with users and using human-centered methods to develop meaningful and impactful changes within the community.
Outside of design, I love meaningful service and service learning. I used to serve as the President for Project Hope, an organization that focuses on fundraising and raising awareness to improve the education system in rural China. I also served as the Service Learning Chair for Alpha Phi Omega - Gamma Chapter, the largest service fratenity on campus with over 400 active members, where I lead meaningful discussions in helping members with understanding the root causes of social issues and the "why" behind all of the service we do.
During my free time, I like to swim and play badminton. I also like to watch anime. I recently purchased the Nikon D3400, and ever since then, I have been taking photos from time to time to improve my photography skills. I am obsessed with stationery, especially mechanical pencils and gel pens. Open up my pencil case and you'll find many different variations of writing utensils. You can call me a stationery collector or a writing utensil enthusiast.
